Direct Hit!

You’re hiding behind the upstairs railing, trying not to giggle as you hear the front door being “professionally” picked (which sounds like someone attacking it with a spoon).

“Okay Martin, we’re in!” Larry whispers loudly enough for the whole neighborhood to hear. “Now remember, we go upstairs first to check for—”

THWONK!

The first paint can catches Larry right in the forehead with a satisfying metallic boing! sound. He staggers backward, stars practically visible around his head.

“What the—” Martin starts to say, just as the second paint can swings back and clips him right in the nose.

THWONK!

Both burglars tumble backward down the stairs in a tangle of arms, legs, and confused shouting. Larry’s gold tooth is now slightly less gold and significantly more loose.
