“We should tell someone,” you decide. “This is too important to mess up. What if we can’t find him? What if we get lost? Danny’s family needs to know, and the police have better equipment and more people.”

Tom groans. “But then we won’t be heroes! Some adult will get all the credit.”

“So what?” you reply. “This isn’t about us being heroes. This is about Danny getting home to his family.”
