Planning the Expedition

The decision is made. You’re going to find Danny Morrison and bring him home to his family. The excitement is infectious, even though there’s an undercurrent of fear and uncertainty.

“We’ll need supplies,” you say, taking charge. “Food, water, camping gear. And we’ll need to be smart about this – no one can know where we’re really going.”

“I can get us a map,” Gary offers. “There’s one in my dad’s den that shows all the railway lines and back roads.”

“And I’ve got my camping stuff from Boy Scouts,” Vinny adds, looking more confident now that there’s a plan.

Tom grins. “This is gonna be the best adventure ever. Better than any stupid summer camp.”

You spend the next hour planning every detail. The journey will take you through the woods, along the railway tracks, and into territory none of you have ever explored. It’s scary and exciting and feels like the most important thing you’ve ever done.
