Heart of Darkness

With vampiric speed born of desperation, you lunge forward with the wooden stake. Andrew tries to dodge, but the approaching dawn has weakened him too much. The stake plunges into his heart with a sickening thud.

For a moment, time seems frozen. Andrew’s eyes widen in shock and disbelief. “Impossible,” he whispers. “I am eternal…”

Then he begins to crumble. His flesh turns to ash, his bones to dust, and with a final scream of rage and defeat, the vampire lord dissolves entirely. The moment he’s destroyed, an amazing transformation begins throughout the chamber.

The other vampires who were turned by Andrew begin to change back into humans, gasping and confused but alive. Some have been vampires for decades, but they’re human again. The curse is broken.

Outside, you can hear the sounds of a town waking up to its first truly safe dawn in over thirty years.
