Sanctuary and Secrets

The House of God

Blackpool’s church is old, with weathered stone walls and stained glass windows that cast eerie shadows in the candlelight. Father Mitchell, an elderly priest with kind but weary eyes, greets you at the entrance.

“Welcome, my child,” he says, though there’s something guarded in his expression. “You’re not from around here, are you? Few strangers visit our town these days… and fewer still seek the sanctuary of the church after dark.”

As you explain your purpose, you notice several people sleeping in the pews – townspeople who apparently refuse to go home after sunset. Father Mitchell’s expression grows increasingly troubled as you mention the missing persons.

“The darkness has been growing stronger,” he admits finally. “There are… old evils in this town. Things that should not be spoken of lightly. But perhaps… perhaps it’s time someone knew the truth.”
