Secrets in the Stacks

The Blackpool library is surprisingly well-maintained, considering the state of the rest of the town. Sarah Chen, the librarian, greets you with enthusiasm when you ask about the town’s supernatural history.

“Finally!” she exclaims, pushing her glasses up. “Someone else who’s noticed the patterns. I’ve been documenting disappearances for years, and there’s definitely a cycle.”

She leads you to a back room filled with newspaper clippings, old photographs, and detailed charts. The evidence is overwhelming – disappearances spike every few years, always involving people in their teens and twenties, always occurring during new moon phases.

“Look at this,” Sarah points to a 1987 newspaper photo. “This biker gang has been in almost every decade since the 1950s. Same faces, same ages. It’s impossible unless…”

“Unless they’re vampires,” you finish.

Sarah nods grimly. “I’ve been trying to find their nest. I think it’s in the old cave system beneath the boardwalk.”
